MOODS OF MOUNTAIN GODDESS - NANDA DEVI   

Nanda Devi(7818 mts),the beloved mountain goddess of Garhwal Himalayas, whose territories mark one of the highest national parks in the world,abounds some of the most fascinating mountain peaks e.g Dunagiri(7066 mts),Changbang(6864 mts),Kalanka(6932 mts),Rishipahar(6992 mts),Bethartoli Himal(6352 mts),Trishul I &  II (7210 & 6319 mts),

Mabganaon(6765 mts),Nandakhat(6611mts),Maiktoli(6303 mts).Mrigthuni(6565 mts),and some of the rare himalaya fauna e.g Snow leopard,musk deer,monal pheasant ,with great variety of birds and butterflies and rare Himalayan flora.

All this can be encountered at its best from Auli,one of the best sking slopes(in winters)in Asia.The entire trek goes through excellent meadows and thick forests of Oak,and fir(cedar),with breathstopping views of Mt.Nanda Devi_In different moods. 

ITENARARY 

Day 1 - Rishikesh / Joshimath ; Drive 9 - 10 Hrs. O / N - Hotel.Early Morning after breakfast drive to Joshimath. The entire drive is along the Alaknanda river till we reach Joshimath. Enroute stop at Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag and Nandaprayag, the most famous confluences of Garhwal Himalayas.Arrive Joshimath and transfer to hotel. Dinner and overnight hotel.

Day 2 - Joshimath / Auli / Gorson Bughyal ; Trek 2 Hrs. O / N - Camp.Early Morning enjoy the sunrise on the Nanda Devi Peak.Arrive Auli a Ski resort center furhter trek to Gorson Bughyal ( Meadow), the trails heads up the hillside beyond the ski lift before reaching a small oak and holly forest. A small temple is passed before the trail emerges at the base of the extensive series of meadow Gorson Bughyal. Once U r through the forest , there r many views of the classic route up the Rishi Ganga into the Nandadevi Sanctauary, today we camp at a small Meadow inside a forest coverd with Oak trees.

Day 3 - Gorson / Tali ; Trek 4 - 5 Hrs - O / N - Camp.Today we start our trek from gorson to Tali. When we enter the flat Meadoa of Gorson Buyhyal one can easily view the panorama view of Himalayas Mountains. The trail beyond Gorson bughyal is steep in places, before crossing a rocky outcrop to a small lake named Tali Lake.The entire trek today is gradual ascent. Arrive Tali and hve a evening tea with snacks. Meals and overnight Camp.

Day 4 - Tali / Kuaripass base ; Trek 5 - 6 Hrs - O / N - Camp.Morning after breakfast trek to the base of Kuaripass.

Day 5. Gailgarh - Kuaripass top - Dhakwani : Trek 4 / 5 Hrs. O/N - Camp. Its steep ascend from Kuaripass to Dhakwani, kuaripass means " door way ". Blinding view of snow peaks rewards for all our efforts to reach the Top. Many high peaks of Garhwal can be seen from here.From Kuaripass the route leads along the right side of the Gorge past a small shepherds encampment to a clearing at Dhakwani (3300 mt).

Day 6 - Dhakwani - Pana (2448 mt) : Trek 5 / 6 Hrs. O/N - Camp : Trek through thick forest, trail leads us down to a small wooden bridge. O/N - Camp.

Day 7 - Pana - Semkharak (2060 mt) : Trek 4 / 5 Hrs. O/N - Camp. While trek it is a nice view of the valley. few hours descend then steep ascend to Semkahark, beautiful camping ground with lush green grass, small flat meadow. O/N - Camp.

Day 8 -  Semkahark - Ramni - Ghoni (1460 mt) : Trek 5 / 6 Hrs. O/N - Camp.Trail descends to Ramni village, through out beautiful conifer & oak forest, possibility to see the barking deer and the occasional leopard in this area, view of snow packed peaks. O/N - Camp at small flat meadow.

Day 9 -  Ghoni - Ghat - Nandaprayag : Trek 3 Hrs. Drive 4 Hrs to Nandaprayag. The trails leads through the small village & flushing Nandakini river. After few hours walk, we drive from Chapna to Ghat and then Ghat to Nandaprayag. Trip Conclude at arrival in Nandaprayag. Drive back to Rishikesh.
